The Howland Farm is a 200-acre peaceful refuge located in the rolling hills of Upstate New York. A working family farm for more than 150 years, it has been updated and transitioned to a gathering place for events of all kinds. THE EVENT BARN
The historic charm of the Event Barn makes the perfect setting for a memorable event. When you open the barn doors, the indoor and outdoor spaces become one. Handicap accessible bathrooms, dance floor, bar, available furniture, and supplies take the stress out of throwing your next celebration.
THE CEREMONY SITES
Surrounded by sweeping views of distant hills, the farm offers many stunning and unique sites for photos and ceremonies. There is a certified butterfly garden, stream, and mature trees sprinkled throughout the estate.
SUPPLIES AND DÉCOR
Everything you need to host a small- medium sized event is readily available on site. Tables, chairs, decorations, and more. There are even linens available for a cleaning fee, if needed.
THE GUEST HOUSE
With five bedrooms and three full baths, the Guest House provides the perfect overnight accommodation so your special guests may stay close to the festivities. A favorite past time is sipping coffee in a rocking chair on one of the three covered porches with views that overlook the 200-acre farm.

How much do you charge?
Events at Howland Farm include the Event Barn and three nights in the Guest House for up to 10 overnight guests. Prices start at $3,900 on up depending on the event size, length of stay, and your plans. Please schedule a tour and/or request the price list.
What do we do if it rains?
All outdoor events will need an inclement weather plan. The Guest House interior is not designed to accommodate groups larger than 20. The Event Barn can easily seat 70. Other options include: rearrange the indoor space in the Event Barn or rent a larger tent capable of accommodating all activities in combination with the Event Barn.
What is the maximum capacity of the Guest House?
The event contract agreement includes 10 overnight guests who can sleep comfortably in 5 bedrooms. With prior approval, the Guest House can accommodate 12 overnight guests by using the trundle bed and roll away bed provided.
Do you have a shuttle bus?
We do not have shuttle buses, but several customers have rented golf carts from a local vendor who will deliver them. Golf carts are a great way to get around the farm and transport guests who need a little extra help. There are also area vendors available to assist with transportation to and from area hotels.
What is the alcohol policy?
When renting a venue, the client is responsible for meeting all NYS legal requirements and liability for serving and consuming alcohol. This may include applying for and obtaining a NYS alcohol permit or hiring a caterer who already has a permit.
What are the restrictions about noise and quiet hours?
The farm is a quiet and peaceful environment. Quiet hours are between 11 pm and 8 am. (Please feel comfortable discussing your needs with our event coordinator.)
What about open fires?
We have a 30-inch fire pit and yard chairs. The fire pit can be set up around the yard. Of course, the fire must be monitored and extinguished safely. Our on-site property manager will assist with set up and provide fire starter materials and a few logs for your convenience.
No open flame decorations are allowed within any of the building on the farm. Several battery operated candles are available in the supply area.
What size tent will I need?
This will depend on the size of your event. The event barn easily seats 70 guests. An event coordinator or the tent rental companies (on our vendor list) can help you identify the best tent size depending on the needs of your celebration.
Do you have a vendor list?
We do have a list of vendors who have worked at Howland Farm previously. While you are not obligated to use any of these vendors, the list and recommendations from our event coordinator may help you with your planning needs. Are there any animals on the property?
There are currently no domestic animals on the property. If you are looking for animals for an event, there are area farms which offer horses, traveling petting zoo, etc.
